I was really clear painting this work that Jesus Rays of Hope come from one of my principle spiritual Masters. I also got clear about the Rays of Hope He offers humanity.

Enlightened beings like Jesus give us Rays of Hope. They emanate positive possibilities in the midst of dismal circumstances. It follows, then, I paint Holy Masters because people need to be reminded these Rays are available by having a relationship with Them, and the paintings provide this reminder. You can relate to Them through relating to the painting. This was the whole purpose of Icon paintings: to provide the living presence of the enlightened being through the image, so people could relate with Them and receive Rays of Hope.

The Rays and Halos depicted in art of enlightened figures is extensive. Buddha, Jesus, Krishna, just to name a few, are often depicted with “light around the body,” especially around the head. Why? What is the light of Love they are emitting? What is the Hope of salvation from our problems they offer us as liberation? These “rays of hope” coming forth from this Jesus painting are palpable. You can touch them, in other words, and see them quite clearly.
